Take off the outer leaves of the sprouts and slice them in half or in quarters with a sharp knife. Then toss the sprouts with olive oil in a large bowl.
Heat a pan over medium heat and add brussels sprouts to the hot pan. Cover the pan with a tight-fitting lid and cook about 7 minutes, until the insides are cooked.
Now remove the lid. Turn the heat up a bit, and let the sprouts continue to cook over higher heat, stirring often. Your goal is to get each brussels sprout nicely browned (without burning them). Salt to taste.
